The ADDL’s floating dry dock is proposed to be a state-of-the-art facility for the repair and maintenance of ships in the sub region, re-fueling of vessels (bunkering/tank farm), and also fabricate watercrafts like waterbuses, barges, ferries, fishing boats and so on. It is proposed to be a training facility for marine engineers, dry dock workers and many other professionals needed in the maritime industry in Ghana and Africa.
As an oil producing country, we would also take the advantage of the sector to participate in the fabrication of subsea components. Medical vessels are going to be fabricated to help bring treatment to those living in islands across the country and Africa. The value proposition of ADDL will be anchored on the three pillars of service excellence, strategic partnering and competitive pricing.
ADDL is duly established under the Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) on 10TH APRIL 2017. The Floating Dock is planned as a component of an Integrated Logistics Platform to support coastal shipping, exploration, and production of oil and gas resources in Ghana and Africa. The Gulf of Guinea has recently witnessed an increase in coastal shipping. This is partly due to fishing, a surge in oil and gas exploration and production activities by West African countries.
